FAQs for Drivers

We make it simple. Once you register with us, we review your application and contact you to learn about your experience, preferences, and availability. Then, we match you with open roles that fit your profile. Or, if we have a specific advert on the Driver Jobs website, then you can simply request that your information be sent directly to the company recruiting drivers.

We work closely with a wide network of trusted logistics companies across the UK. Based on your location, vehicle type, licence, and preferred work pattern (e.g., full-time, part-time, or seasonal), we connect you with companies actively hiring drivers like you.

We look at several factors:

  • Your location
  • Type of driving licence you hold (e.g., Cat B, C, C+E, Cat D)
  • Experience level
  • Vehicle ownership (if applicable)
  • Preferred working hours and days

This helps us find jobs that are the right fit – so you’re not wasting time applying for unsuitable roles.

Once you’ve completed your application and submitted the required documents, we aim to get you matched within 48 to 72 hours. Timelines can vary depending on your location, license type, and current job availability. If we don’t have anything immediately available, we’ll keep your details and let you know when there is a match.

Experience requirements vary by role. Some companies are open to new drivers with no experience, while others may require 6+ months or more. We’ll help you find roles that match your level – whether you’re a seasoned driver or just getting started. Just be honest as it makes the process for you much easier (and quicker).

This depends on the type of role you’re applying for:

  • Cat B (standard UK car licence) – For van and small delivery vehicles
  • Cat C / C1 – For medium to large goods vehicles
  • Cat C+E – For articulated HGVs (heavy goods vehicles)
  • Cat D – Bus/coach drivers (less common) You must also hold a valid CPC and tachograph card for most professional driving roles.

If you’re unsure what you need, we’re happy to guide you.

Nothing. Our service is 100% free for drivers. We’re paid by the companies who hire you, not by you.

We do our best to match every applicant with suitable opportunities, but we can’t guarantee a job. Final hiring decisions are made by the logistics companies. That said, we work hard to find the right fit and support you every step of the way.

Yes – many of the roles we recruit for are self-employed or contractor positions. This gives you the flexibility to choose your hours, work independently, and often earn more. However, as a self-employed driver, you’ll be responsible for managing your own taxes, and sometimes your own vehicle and insurance.

If you’re new to self-employment, we can guide you through the basics and what you’ll need to get started.

Yes – most logistics companies require a basic background check before hiring. This typically includes a criminal record check (DBS) and a right to work verification. Some roles may also check your driving record for points or endorsements.

We’ll let you know exactly what’s needed for each job, and we can help you through the process if required.

Yes, you can still apply. Minor endorsements (like speeding points) don’t automatically disqualify you. However, the number and type of endorsements may affect which roles you’re eligible for.

We’ll review your licence details and work to match you with companies whose requirements you meet. If you’re unsure whether your endorsements will be an issue, just ask – we’re here to help.

Yes, most delivery and logistics companies require drivers to be at least 18 years old, and some may set a minimum age of 21 depending on the vehicle type or insurance policy.

For larger vehicles like HGVs, you’ll typically need to be at least 18 and hold the correct licence category (e.g., Cat C or C+E). Some employers may also require a minimum period of driving experience regardless of age.

If you’re unsure whether you meet the age requirements, get in touch – we’ll help you find roles that suit your profile.

Yes! Many of the logistics companies we work with offer flexible schedules, including weekend-only shifts. Weekend work can be ideal if you’re looking for part-time hours, a second income, or greater flexibility.

Let us know your availability when you apply, and we’ll match you with roles that fit your preferred schedule – whether that’s weekends only or a mix of shifts.

Not always. Some roles require you to have your own van or car (especially for self-employed courier work), while others provide a company vehicle. We recruit for both types of roles.

If you don’t have your own vehicle, just let us know during the application process – we’ll match you with companies that supply vehicles or offer rental options.

If we don’t have immediate openings in your area, don’t worry — we’ll keep your details on file and contact you as soon as something becomes available nearby.

You can also choose to be considered for roles in surrounding areas if you’re willing to travel a bit. We’re constantly adding new positions, so there’s a good chance something suitable will come up soon.
